Murray Royal Hospital Working Hours

We were told when planning consent was issued for the development of the new Murray Royal Hospital that work would be carried out on the site on weekdays between 8a.m. and 5p.m.. We had pressed for this as the noise from the site is intense and will go on for 2 years.

On 20th July Community Council representatives had a meeting with Kevin Rooney, the Project Manager for Morgan Sindall, and David Gray, the Project Manager. We were told that these continued to be the working hours and that no Saturday work was envisaged yet.

Since then on several occasions work has started well before 8a.m. and finished after 6p.m.. We queried this and were told that extra hours were being worked to make use of the summer daylight.

Work has also been carried out on Saturday 3rd and 10th August. We are trying to find out if this is a permanent change. It would be helpful to residents to know so that they can make plans for their weekend.
