Parking Around Murray Royal Hospital

We are concerned about hospital parking spilling on to surrounding streets. When the new hospital is operational there will only be 195 parking places for over 300 staff (who will have shift changeovers), visitors, day patients and up to 96 conference delegates.

To comply with the hospital planning consent NHS must achieve a reduction in car usage of 28% by the time the new hospital opens. It is looking at car sharing, public transport, changes to working hours and park and ride. However we have found no example in the UK of any organisation achieving such reduction.

We only have to look at the streets around Ninewells Hospital and PRI to see what might happen here. We intend to distribute leaflets shortly. If you are concerned please contact us on bgkcc@hotmail.co.uk or come to our meeting on Thursday 18th November at Gannochy Community Hall.
