Know about your street names?

Local author Paul Philipou is currently undertaking some research into the derivation of the names of Perth's nearly 600 streets and wonders if any of our residents have some knowledge in this area. Many of the streets in the Gannochy-Bridgend-Kinnoull area have names whose derivations are either documented or can be understood by looking at the various nineteenth century OS maps that are available. However, there are still a few names that he cannot fathom such as Haddon Road and Haston Crescent. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.
